LET'S TALK MEDZ!

Updated: May 13

"The Moment I Knew: This Med was messing with my mood"

I was brushing my teeth when I noticed it. Not the meds.

Not even the diagnosis. Not even the symptoms.

I noticed me. I wasn't smiling. I hadn't smiled in days. And it wasn't sadness- it was like my emotions had packed a bag and left the building.

That's when it hit me:

This medication was doing something more than stabilizing- it was muting me.

The Shift Is Subtle at First:

For many of us, mood stabilizers don't kick in with fireworks. They tiptoe on. One day you laugh less. The next, you're avoiding people. then maybe you sleep more... or feel like you're watching your life happen without participating.

Wait, Is This Me...or the Meds?

This question haunts so many. Is this my " real"

mood or chemical cocktail running through my veins? Am I finally stable, or am I just...numb?

Its a mental tug-of-war no one warns you about.

You feel guilty for questioning something that's supposed to be helping. But you cant shake the feeling that something's off.

Telling the Truth Without Shame:

Here's what you need to hear: You're not crazy for noticing the shift.

You're courageous for saying something.

Mood stabilizers can help. They also come with side effects that mess with your identity, your spirit, and your sense of connection. That's doesn't mean they're bad. It means you deserve to be seen through the treatment- not erased by it.

Call to Action(CTA):

Have you ever felt like your meds changed more than just your mood? Drop a comment or DM your story. Lets talk about it. Because if nobody else will, we will. #LetsTalkMedz
